WHERE TO BEGIN!

Every story needs to start with a beginning. This story about Patrick was developed in the beginning to be a record of his medical condition and keeping track of all the paperwork that would develop and must be kept track of for future reference and research.

I started with just the back of doctor reports, pieces of paper I found sitting around and folders that would start holding stuff. As I began to write a journal I knew somewhere inside of my heart this would become a lifelong journey of Patrick’s life. A few papers would turn into lots of papers. Treatment would take longer than expected. The bills would start to build up. The research and manuals would be stacked. As one box turned into two, then three and then several I realized I would have to become super organized supermom.

As you pick up this book you will see it divided into three secessions. Each chapter will start with the journal story of that stage of Patrick’s disability. From there it will have a section on “Little Red Toolbox” with resources to assist you in navigating the system. It will also include references for you to further investigate. Lastly there is the start of your own journey writing.
